These pages contain summaries of my trips to Japan. I have tried very hard to
keep the linked sites as English as possible, but it is taken for
granted that most sites in Japan or otherwise related to Japan are inevitably
written in Japanese. It doesn't matter if you do not read Japanese at all,
but for those who know at least some Japanese it might be useful if you have
browsers which support Japanese text. Japanese Windows users should find no
problem at all with the two most popular browsers (Netscape Navigator and
Microsoft Internet Explorer). Windows 98 users in other language versions can
update their MS-IE 4.0 or 5.0 through the Japanese Laguage Support
section in the Windows Update Site.
There are still other plug-in programs which provide support for reading text
in foreign languages. One notable example for Chinese, Japanese and Korean is
NJStar.
Here is a site which I have found very useful for translating Japanese text
and even graphics containing Japanese text into English:
Jeffrey's Japanese <=> English Dictionary - Gateway (Main Site)
Jeffrey's Japanese <=> English Dictionary - Gateway (Mirror Site 1)
